The Berlin dialect is known as being extremely direct and full of slang, yet somehow it is still endearing. Two bands that are stylistically very different brought the charm and wit of the German metropolis to Basel. Element of Crime have become a chanson-rock institution with their eccentric, poetic wordplay and slightly melancholic melodies. The enigmatic duo 2Raumwohnung, featuring the iconic figure Inga Humpe and her partner Tommi Eckart, get all toes tapping to the synthetic groove of their light pop. Because both groups typify Berlin in their own way, we asked the current mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, to be the official patron of the evening.
