Jan Delay

Bringing completely diverse artists together is the icing on the cake at the AVO SESSION Basel. Germany’s «Mr. Funk», Jan Delay, and the English soul singer Beverley Knight, two artists who have different geographical backgrounds, but who share a common passion for R&B and soulful melodies, will meet this evening. Jan Delay, who is known for his first-class band Disko No. 1 and his rhythmic precision, encounters Beverley Knight, a singer who has been on the acid jazz and clubhouse soul scene for over 15 years with style and first-class sound. She was always on the charts, but without the distraction of too much hype, she was able to develop as a singer and enrich her light, bright voice with a more mature timbre. It was fascinating to see how the disco man from Germany, with hits like «Oh Jonny» or «Klar» and the soulful British lady with songs like «Come as You Are» or«Keep this Fire Burning», synchronized their beats.
