The Swiss musician with the most success around the globe has remained an underdog in his own country up to this day: Andreas Vollenweider, the harpist and commuter between pop, jazz and world music. For a long time he was simply branded «new age», but since his daring album «Cosmopoly» (1999) it has become clear, that he cannot be relegated into any single musical concept. He practically brought an all-star cast to our festival: the legendary South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim (Dollar Brand), but also Xiaojing Wang, the virtuoso of the Chinese «Erhu»-violin, the seasoned Walter Keiser on drums and as special guests, the great American «Duduk»-player Djivan Gasparyan as well as the US strings magician David Lindley.
