Elton John
Sat, 18. Nov 2006, 8 PM | Rocket Man
Sir Elton John's appearance marked the first time that the festival has been honoured by a titled performer. Knighted by the Queen in 1998, this veteran star aired doubtless many of his greatest hits during his two performances: songs everyone knows, such as «Crocodile Rock», «Sacrifice», «Sad Songs» and «Rocket Man».
With his dynamic piano playing, energetic live shows, outsize glasses and flamboyant stage costumes, Elton John has not only conquered the world, but broken all records for recording artists. He has sold over 250 million albums and had 50 Top Forty hits. These achievements ensured Elton John a place on rock music's Mount Olympus many years ago.
