Ute Lemper became an international star from her performances in musicals. London, Paris and New York are all at her feet, yet since 1999 she has only given solo performances. She delights her audiences with evenings of Berlin cabaret, her interpretations of French chansons and current-day songs by writers from Tom Waits to Sting.
Annett Louisan opened our Divas! evening. The 27-year-old singer is Germany's new rising star of the chanson. She is already being compared with Hildegard Knef; what better compliment could there be?
