New Orleans, the city in the Mississippi Delta, is sometimes called the «Big Easy», but since Katrina, we know that life there isn’t always easy. It’s also not that simple. You can hear it in the city’s polyphonic, yet simple and even primordial music. Southern blues and gospel are the music of the people as they tell us about their worries and sorrows. Keb’ Mo‘ and Aaron Neville are familiar with those worries and sorrows and they know just how to sing about them: one in a worldly, the other in a more spiritual way. Keb‘ Mo‘ is raw and rough, Neville sings in a sweet falsetto and both are honest, authentic and their music goes right to the heart.
