Junior Wells Blues Band
Tue, 19. Oct 1993, 8.30 PM | Traditional Blues
If we had announced him under his legal name «Amos Blackmoore», the Atlantis would have been empty. As «Junior Wells», however, this blues musician from Memphis, Tennessee was world famous and that not just since his European tour with the Rolling Stones in 1970. His know-how in assembling top musicians for his band, his bluesy voice and his ability on the blues harmonica ensured guaranteed goose bumps.
Mon, 04. May 1987, 7 PM | Blues-Night
We had the great privilege of welcoming two blues treasures with Junior Wells and Buddy Guy, who is definitely one of the true legends of the blues. Both have several Grammy Awards and during this period, there was almost no festival where the two did not perform. A highlight in their career was having been asked to perform as an opening act on tour with the Rolling Stones in the 70s.
